(Memories of Linda Easthope) He had a rug and upholstery shop in Gammel Sole (near Vejle), Danmark. His big “værksted” was attached to the side of the house, and you could go up a little narrow stairway to get there without going outside. Of course there was also a door from outside! The part of the værksted closest to the house was full of all kinds of upholstery materials and rugs, and it smelled really interesting in there. He had a large space to work in on the second storey, with generous windows to let in the light and give views of the garden and village below. We even celebrated his 50th birthday in that space! I remember Onkel Verner as a very kind man. It seemed like he could fix anything, and he wouldn’t let you leave without a good repair. We always were excited when it was time for a visit up to Gammel Sole.
